Requirements in the pharmaceutical industry
In the pharmaceutical industry, the requirements for filling systems are at a high level. In practice, a distinction is made between different cleanroom classes and therefore there are different cleanroom concepts for machines. A distinction is also made between sterile and non-sterile filling.
The parameters of filling accuracy, process reliability, cleaning and cleanliness are also of great importance, and product traceability, also known as “track and trace”, is becoming increasingly important in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, the safety of the systems in terms of system operation and compliant products is of extremely high priority.

Specialization in tube and bottle filling
Gustav Obermeyer is primarily active in the pharmaceutical industry with filling systems for tubes and bottles. The tubes commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry can be made of aluminum as well as plastic and PE laminate. In terms of bottle filling machines, we offer machines for all typical pharmaceutical bottle materials and shapes. Bottle filling also includes specific applications for nasal sprays, vials, dropper bottles, etc.
Our portfolio also includes filling machines for syringes and special containers for the pharmaceutical industry, depending on customer requirements.
GMP-compliant and user-friendly machines
The pharmaceutical machines from Gustav Obermeyer impress with their smooth surfaces, easy-to-clean design and user-friendliness. Servomotor drives and sophisticated software ensure that the high demands on filling accuracy and process reliability can be met.
All our machines are GMP-compliant. Parts in contact with the product are made of AISI 316L stainless steel or FDA-compliant plastics as standard. We also have appropriate solutions for sterile pharmaceutical filling with the aid of laminar flow systems.
Compact design for clean room conditions
What all systems have in common is their extremely compact design. This should not be underestimated, as the production rooms have to meet high standards of cleanliness and sterility and the space costs are therefore considerably higher than in other industries.
Tube filling machines
Our tube filling machines are mechanically or servomotor-driven and use pneumatics only for their auxiliary functions such as blowing off, etc. All tube filling machines are constructed from welded stainless steel frames made of AISI 304 with smooth surfaces. They are therefore ideally suited for clean room operation. This applies equally to our semi-automatic TU25, our TU60 or TU60 and our TU91. The TU91 as a rotary transfer machine and the TU110 as an oval filling machine are particularly suitable for the pharmaceutical industry. This is because in these cases the stations are completely encapsulated, i.e. encased in stainless steel housings made of AISI 304L.
Rotary transfer machines
Gustav Obermeyer also produces compact rotary transfer machines for cough syrups, nasal sprays and dropper bottles with rotary pistons or peristaltic pumps such as our AL55 and AL31. The AL51 with two rotary transfer plates can fill and close almost all types of vials with closures such as aluminum roll-on closures, crimp-on closures, pop-on closures and screw caps. And, of course, our in-line fillers for both viscous and liquid products are also used in the pharmaceutical industry together with our GSM500 automatic screw capping machines.
Particularly compact AL110 oval machine
Special mention should be made of our AL110 platform, an oval machine on which all types of capping stations and filling principles can be installed in an extremely compact way, and which can process bottles and vials at speeds of up to 100 per minute.
